The Environmental Systems Modelling Group develops and applies data-driven modelling approaches to understand environmental processes, ecosystem dynamics, contaminant behaviour, and the movement of natural and anthropogenic signals through the environment, supporting research across radiocarbon, isotope, and environmental science.
Methodology
We produce and have access to increasing amounts of data that our group leverages to advance scientific discovery. By fully exploiting what is already known, we develop data-driven research hypotheses, provide sound advice to collaborating partners, and produce robust interpretative models.
Techniques
Ecopath / Ecosim
Ecosystem modelling to investigate anthropogenic impacts to the marine environment including climate change, offshore infrastructure and tracing contaminant uptake and flow through foodwebs.
