With access to advanced instrumentation, UKRI-funded national facilities, and interdisciplinary research clusters, fellows benefit from an ecosystem designed to foster innovation, collaboration, and impact.
We actively support applications to key schemes such as: UKRI Future Leaders Fellowships (FLF) – for exceptional researchers ready to lead transformative projects across disciplines. NERC Independent Research Fellowships (IRF) – for early-career environmental scientists aiming to build international research profiles. Other council fellowships – including BBSRC, MRC, and cross-UKRI opportunities supporting mobility, career returners, and policy engagement
Fellowships hosted at SUERC are embedded within vibrant research teams and supported by experienced mentors, ensuring a strong foundation for long-term research leadership.
