The National Environmental Isotope Facility (NEIF) at SUERC, funded by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), is part of a network dedicated to the application of isotope science to address critical environmental and geological challenges. NEIF provides access to state-of-the-art analytical services, cutting-edge research support, and expert consultation in isotopic analysis. Its mission is to advance scientific understanding and innovation across a broad spectrum of disciplines, including climate science, hydrology, ecology, and geosciences.
Prof. Philippa Ascough is head of NEIF at SUERC. Capabilities provided to NEIF by SUERC include cosmogenic isotope dating, environmental radiocarbon, argon/argon geochrhonology, stable isotope metrology for ecology, geology and environmental applications.
